Cover Thoughts: muh not spectacular. I keep wanting to picture Kristen Dunst as she planned the 2006 movie of Maria Antoinette, not the lady on the cover.
Review: Book #1: Becoming Maria Antoinette

The story starts when Marie is young and to be honest I kept waiting for the wedding to come and disaster to strike the royal family. But I was jumping to far. There's a beginning to that story. There's the story behind the Marie we see in the 2006 movie. And that is what this book is about.

It's 464 pages. That's allot of pages. The story isn't always fast-paced. And to be honest it was exactly what I needed. It was a great book but not something deep, emotionally and I didn't feel like I had to be reading every second of the day. Which for my life right now I need something that doesn't demand my attention but is always intriguing to go to when I do have a peaceful moment.

I very much enjoyed it and I am looking forward to book 2.  I did wanted to share this funny line. It probably won't make sense out of context but it was good still.

"Oh, mon Dieu. You meant to say 'vos chevaux' - your horses! 'Chevaux' is the word for 'horses.' 'Cheveux' means 'hair'. "

I don't know any french (so I had to look up a few sentences, makes it more interesting for me when I have to research a little for a book!)

SIDE NOTE: I love reading about Kings and Queens. They are my favorite history books to read. I sometimes think I would rather read about past Queens over fantasy. It's just so nice to read about the fashions and drama. I don't read enough about them.

"...while the full weight of my crime settled on my narror shoulders. "I. Didn't. Mean. To. Kill. Her. I've. Never. Killed. Anything. I. Would. Never. Hurt ..." My sobs finally came in big loud gulps, bursts of hysterical sound punctuated by apologies"

Chapter 27
Chapter 28

It's been so long since I've read this manga, since the end of March. And only two new chapters have been released! I am conflicted on this manga. Do I like it or do I hate it? I just don't know if I like how Kyo treats her. He is really sweet and than he throws these silly tests at her. Like will she let him sleep with another woman to guarantee the safety of the clan? But I think that was actually Chapter 26 (as I reread that one to make sure I was all caught up)

It was kinda nice to see the two of them alone together for once. Misao finally realizes how spoiled Kyo really is. I mean his never been in a kitchen before. I really wish though that she had high ambitions than making him, his food and doing his laundry. But that is the life she is debating on.

I am curious about the newest character. How he got his scar and what his big secret power is. Fingers crossed a new chapter comes soon.

Passion, book 3

I started of not liking this series. But it has grown and evolved into a very good storyline. This bad far is my favorite of the series. I enjoyed the time travel and watching the past. Though so of it felt a little fake and I am not sure hoe true what she wrote is to the actual time.

This is a very light fast read. I also like the fact that Luce was the focus of the book, not her friends or Daniel. I still don't know if I like Daniel, I prefer Cam but they both have things I dislike about them.

I do wish I hadn't read the last chapter. I hate cliffhangers and if you skip the page 418 to the end the book ends on a good note. Though I don't know anyone who could stop there.

The last page lets us know the final book Rapture is coming spring of next year. I'll have to look for it in NetGalley!

Happy Reading

Review: Book 1: The Redemption of Ajax

This book doesn't come out until September and this is the first NetGalley Book that I am for sure buying on release date! I can not wait to hold the book and look at it's gorgeous cover! Who knows when the second book will be released by fingers crossed it's ASAP!

Where to start on this book.

1. The quote I shared on Teaser Tuesday is one of my favorites.

2. The build up on the sex part of the book, had me wanting them to just do it already. Which is extremely weird as I hate sex in a book, but I couldn't wait for it to happen. And that very small part was written very well.

3. I loved loved 'Boo'

4. The betrayal was completely expected but so sad. I was really hoping it wont come true.

5. I was really happy when the whole story about Jane came out. I think that Pheonix will be able to heal with it all out in the opening.

6. There was only one sentence that annoyed me. And I bookmarked it to share. "Instead, she bit into the stale muffin and decided sawdust would taste about like this." I am awful with grammar, so I am not usually one to judge but this sentence just drives me nuts.

7. Ajax reminds me allot of Mr. How weird is that?? Especially when he takes Sasha shopping. I find their similarities slightly disturbing. The only difference is that Mr. does not fight the evil part of himself, pretty sure there ain't an evil bone in the guy. But the main personalities traits of Ajax and Mr are pretty similar. It was really nice to read about a guy so similar to mine!

8. The ending was so perfect but gah... when's the next book. Who will the next book focus on?? Will it be a different brother or continue off where we leave off? Will there be a prequel about the brothers father and mother? (cause that would be awesome)

Mr is a genius and said I should see if I can pre-order this book on Book Depository.. Fingers crossed I can!!

Updating my Waiting on Wednesday List. I wanted to see how many I've read that I wanted to last year as most of them have since been released. It was kinda surprising to find out I haven't read as many as I though. Out of the 9 I had I have only read 4! That's not even half. So that is another goal... read the books on this list! :)

He was the ugliest dog she'd ever seen, medium-sized with a patchy gray coat and a face only a mother could love. He was looking at her, tongue and tail wagging.

Review: I wanted to love this book. I don't know the German Fairytale of "Tristan and Isolde" and I will have to look more into that story to see how the two compare. But I just didn't enjoy it. Izzie was just an awful person, I never liked her or how she talked or how she talked about her body near the end. The romance between Tris and Izzie felt extremely force and not real at all. And at first that was okay because you think it's a love philtre but then it's not and well I was kinda disappointed. If it had been their relationship would have made allot more sense to me.

What I did like about this book was Branna and Mark. What great real characters they were. I could relate to them and they were very like-able. Their relationship felt real and I was so happy when they got together.

The book was really slow in the beginning and then it just sped up and suddenly it was the final battle and I was wondering how it all happened so fast. But I like that it went that way as it's very much like real life! The vision and how Izzie defeats the 'bad guy' is well written and a good scene.

I enjoyed the overall idea of the book, just not the main characters. But I will definitely read something by Harrison again. I actually did debate on whether or not this book would be a series. Except that I don't really want to read more about Tris and Izzie, I would rather read about Branna and Mark, even if their names aren't as cool. :)

Gah, why do I do this to myself! I should never continue reading a series when one of the books ends really well. That always means the next book is going to be a cliffhanger. Vol 6 is most definitely a cliffhanger, just as bad as Vol 2.

Series has a slight pattern. A light read vol, then a dark vol. Vol 5 was light and fluffy and hilarious. Vol 6 has started to get dark. Though I think Vol 7 will break the pattern and be very dark. At least I am hoping it will be, with the massive build up in Vol 6 it would only be fitting.

Noah's Ark Circus has some interesting characters. And to be honest I don't really want to get into them. Just know that I absolutely love this series. And I am counting down the days until Vol 7 is released!

You may remember that Vol 4 ended in the middle of a Curry Battle! But little did I know that book was just the beginning not even close to being the middle!

Vol 5

While the idea of the Curry battle seemed completely silly and slightly off topic for the book series. It was the right fit for the story and did met a goal of the Phantomhive Family. AND it was just so entertaining!

The Curry Festival would be so much fun to go to!! And what Sebastian came up with is a very interesting idea, I am actually curious if I can find something like that to buy for lunches as that would be a fantastic idea!

How the winner is decided is even better. The queen was an unexpected twist as were her changing mood swings. I can't way to see more of the circus and what that even means. Also do Agni and Prince Soma stay as side characters?

With the help of the books and Wiki! and I have written out a couple random things about the Supporting Characters to the Black Butler Series

Bardroy (the household cook)
Finnian (gardener)
Mey-Rin (the maid)
They were strays before Young Master (aka Ciel) found them and brought them to his home. I do wonder at their importance other than comedy relief, I know they are to protect Ciel but they don't seem to do much more than... screw up. Though they are fiercely loyal to Ciel.

Then there is the mystery of Lau a Chinese noble and President of the British branch of a Chinese trading company and his 'sister' Ran-Mao.
