Cover Thoughts: definitely pulled me in!
My Review: Mermaids... something I have never read about before and for a first time read this was definitely a good pick. Sarah Porter really brought the mermaid life alive for me. Especially the singing, singing was such a major play in this book. It really made me wish the book came with a CD of someone singing the songs Luce sings. The descriptions... well I don't know actually it felt like there wasn't descriptions but it the music was describe. It's weird.
While I couldn't relate to Luce in someways. Mostly on the horrible things that happened to her. The crap she takes afterwards when another character joins her group. Well she is just like me. I would do exactly that and eventually I would snap too. But I think I am getting ahead of myself.
How the girls become mermaids is so interesting. Not so much the reason why, but more it doesn't matter where they are, they just become liquid and float through until they reach salt water.
Oh I really enjoyed this story, I could not put it down and when I had to put it down I was thinking about it!! What a great book to start off the year!
This book is the first of it's series, I have no idea when a second book is coming out, but I definitely can't wait!!
Happy Reading!

Oh, this is another one I really want to read from Netgalley! I just requested it the other day! :) It'll be my first mermaid book. :) You've got me wondering how the girls become mermaids now (actually experience it for myself... well, not that I can become a mermaid... well, you know what I mean! :P) Anyway, great review! :D I'm glad you enjoyed it! ♥
ReplyDeleteHow girls become mermaid? That is interesting! I like mermaids that can sing. Now it reminds me of Ariel from The Little Mermaid =)
