 Photobucket Hush, Hush, book one

I did a Teaser Tuesday on this book…

I just barely finished it. Not sure yet what to think of it. I did randomly write down this little quote from the book, because I thought it was freaking hilarious
“I don’t want to wait. I am seriously two think minutes away from death by starvation.”
Vee said it on page 169. She’s so over dramatic but she adds great comic relief to a book that would otherwise be very depressing. She was definitely my favorite character in the story.

I see allot of posts about Patch.. and oh how wonderful he was. But honestly he really just annoyed me. Actually I think that’s what really frustrated me about this book. Nora wasn’t strong. She was exactly what Patched claimed her to be “Intelligent. Attractive. Vulnerable.” I guess she annoyed me more than anything, to allow someone to take so much control over you intelligence is stupid. I don’t know I like strong woman characters and she definitely wasn’t one.

The bad guy well he came out of nowhere and it felt like a scapegoat. The whole ending just fell short of my expectations and wasn’t complete. Sure it wrapped up all loose endings and everything. But it was still odd. I have to say though even if I haven’t been talking good the story. It was still a good story. I did enjoy it and I was thoroughly engrossed it the tale.

I will definitely continue reading this series, it’s just not quiet up there on the priority list. Mainly due to the fact the ending felt so unsatisfactory. Cresendo was released yesterday October 19.. and there's another coming soon.

I of course took an outfit picture!! Wore something different, but it was comfy!

Beautiful creatures called monsters live in the Dells. Monsters have the shape of normal animals: mountain lions, dragonflies, horses, fish. But the hair or scales or feathers of monsters are gorgeously colored-- fuchsia, turquoise, sparkly bronze, iridescent green-- and their minds have the power to control the minds of humans.

Seventeen-year-old Fire is the last remaining human-shaped monster in the Dells. Gorgeously monstrous in body and mind but with a human appreciation of right and wrong, she is hated and mistrusted by just about everyone, and this book is her story.

I read this a few days again, but I just couldn't think of anything to write, so I have been putting off this review. I am not sure why I have been putting it off. It was a great story. I really enjoyed it, in fact I stayed up really late reading it.

Fire as a character was ... wonderful. I really enjoyed her. I also enjoyed some of the background given on some of the other characters from the book Graceling. This book is sorta the prequel to Graceling, it happened 30 years before Graceling started. However. I feel like the to stories were completely separate.

There was only one overlapping character. And it felt kinda like there was two conflicting worlds. Taking Fire on it's own, I really enjoyed it. Kristin Cashhore knows how to write a good story, that gets you involved and I really enjoy that kind of story!

What to say about this book? Kate Moss is quoted on the back of the book saying,
"Simply brillian- I haven't enjoyed a first novel so much for absolutely ages".
I really really enjoyed this book. This book's descriptions are fabulous. The way she talks about books is amazing, you will treasure books after this. It definitely makes me miss the feel and smell of a real paper book in my hands.

I never would have picked up this book, and I have put off reading it for about a week. The my reason I actually did read it, is because it's for books club. And I have to say I am really glad I did. I highly recommend this book.

Anyways what to say about it. Miss Margaret Lea... my first initial thoughts about her was a major loner. Would rather stay in the house all day and read. I am very much the opposite I love people even though I am shy, I couldn't lock myself away to read for hours. But as I learnt more about Margaret I came to understand her and why she chose the path she chose. And while I can't relate, it makes me realize again I should judge a book by it's cover or a first impression of someone.

Miss Winters... I would love love to read some of her books. And I suppose in reality I can, just by reading more books by Setterfield. I totally feel in love with her as a character.

I don't want to share to much, because I always give a way stuff. So I will end with I have another favorite!!

4. Contact the bloggers you've picked to let them know about the award.

SO 7 Things About Myself
1. I use to be shy... but I am finding that being shy is a waste of my time, so I am trying to open up for and speak out. This is difficult, but it's getting easier
2. I hate being put in awkward situations. Like the temporary job position I am in right now. I hate hate it, but I am trying not to complain and find the positions things in it, because my boss is going to ask all kinds of questions when I get back to my normal position and well I need to be prepared to not tell the truth be kind
3. I hate meeting up with people from the past. That has happened allot recently, apparently everyone I use to know has jobs in the same company as me and are all being transferred for this temp position too. This is really hard as these people are also involved in my parents pasted and I would like nothing more than to pretend they don't exist... even if that is harsh
4. I love to play games. A party to me, so pulling out a deck of cars, listening to some good music and having fun chatting it up with friends!
5. I like to cook/bake, but only in my time and not on a deadline. It becomes stressful when someone else wants what I am making. And I usually flop a few before I get it right and I hate flopping my baking.
6. I hate hate snow. At this point I will take the rain over it. Snow means cold and constant cold, indoors and out. Sometimes rain can be warm
7. I love HOT COCOA!! In fact I am gonna make one right now!! Wish you could join me :)

I have a request...

I have a good friend from far away and I want to get her something special.

I have decided that a personalized signed copy of a book is what I would like to send her.

I would love to do either
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins or Graceling by Kristin Cast.
As these are my favorite books and I would hope she would enjoy them too.

But I don't know how to go about getting a copy of a signed book!

HELP!! If you have any ideas please let me know!

Avalon High by Meg Cabot

Meg Cabot seems to write her books all in the same format. I am not sure what it is called. But pretty much the main character narrates the whole story for you. And the same thing as last time it really annoyed me until probably half way through when I got truly adsorbed into the story. This book was much better than the American Girl Series I read. I think it has to do with the history mentioned in the book. I love history, I wish I knew more about it and it was really interesting seeing her theory about King Arthur and Lancelet and all the surrounding people. So even though I think the whole thing is bull, it was still a really good story.

But so far Meg Cabot’s book just aren’t memorable. I won’t be reading it again type of thing. It doesn’t help that I just finished a really great book hours before starting this one. I think the main reason is the format the story is written in. It’s definitely not my favorite way of reading.

Anyways on to the next book, even though I don’t yet know what that is. Happy Reading!

Graceling was such a fabulous book that I had to look up and see what else she has written... Here is what I found

Fire, Graceling's stand-alone prequel-ish companion book, takes place across the mountains to the east of the seven kingdoms, in a rocky, war-torn land called the Dells.
Wondering what makes it a companion book/prequel? Fire takes place 30-some years before Graceling and has one cross-over character with Graceling, a small boy with strange two-colored eyes who comes from no-one-knows-where, and who has a peculiar ability that Graceling readers will find familiar and disturbing...
AND(it says book three, so I am slightly confused...)
Book 3, tentatively titled Bitterblue and currently in progress, is a companion book to both Graceling and Fire and takes place in the seven kingdoms six years after Graceling. As you may have gathered, the protagonist is Bitterblue. Yes, Katsa, Po, and others from Graceling whom I'm not yet willing to name do appear in the book. I don't know yet when it'll be coming out, and heartily invite you not to ask ^_^. That's all I can say about it at this point.
Kristin Cashore has a blog and interesting stuff to. Be sure to check it out (especially the webpage Contact, Info and Credits, the answer about how to pronounce her name is quiet good!)

The Seven Kingdoms, book one
This novel just literally sucked me in. I could not stop reading it. I stayed up way to late reading it, but it was so good. I really hope this is a series, because I would love to read more about Po and Katsa.

What to tell you about this book. I don't look at how well the story is written or at grammar errors. I like to look at how much I enjoyed what I was reading. And I really enjoyed this.

"Grace" is an interesting idea. I like how it worked. I really liked how it evolves too. Watching Po evolve from what he was into what he is, was extremely interesting. The whole concept was fascinating. An interesting thing was Po and Katsa relationship. I could really relate to it. Her anger and his calm manner was so much like how Mr. and I first started out. And I hope one day to be so attuned to Mr. It was weird seeing the similarities between their relationship and my own.

The bad guy in this story was truely horrifying. The ultimate bad guy really. I don't want to spoil it, but with his abilities he could do anything.

I will definitely be looking for more books by Kristin! This was her debut novel and I have big expectations now!

Happy Reading!

The Last book of Thirst No 2. The end of the story.

I stopped reading this one part way through. It is a very descriptive story and most of the descriptions were very gruesome. It was very hard for me to read.

Though I am jumping ahead of myself. At the start I thought the book was crazy. Saucers and all kinds of things, it was really strange. But in the end it fit. The whole story comes to a complete end with all questions answered. At least my questions. I would still like to know more about Sita, but I was really pleased with the ending.

Actually I really enjoyed the ending. I had no idea how one would end it, but the way it did end was fabulous.

Evil Thirst, part 2 of Thirst book two
Well, this was a surprising book. I am mostly surprised by the ending. I also have no idea how Christopher Pike can pack so much into just 86 pages. The last book was super slow compared to this one! Lots definitely happened. We learned allot more about Sita, more about her past and her as a character. As I was reading I randomly took down some notes. I would like to research some of the things I wrote down because I am curious if any of them have any truth to it.

For example the Suzama Society. Is Suzama actually a really person of the past. Did she write prophecy and such. And the book says she claims that Christ or God came to earth 4 times. Of course it coordinates with the book, because the 4 time he comes is during the story. But the first three are ones I am curious about.

1. Lord Krishna or India
2. Adi Shankara of India
3. Christ

What doesn’t add up to me is why would Christ be born twice in India and then randomly in Jersuluam and then sunny old California?? This book definitely made me think… my favorite sentence is
“Had you been born n India even today, you might follow their teachings. l It is largely because you were born in this country that you are Christian.”
I wonder how accurate that statement is. I also really liked the names in this book Kalika or Kali Ma the Dark Mother, the Supreme Goddess of Destruction, or Shankara. Anyways this book was really fascinating; I love it when it makes me what to do research. On to the next one..

Happy Reading.
