Sorcerer Marla Mason, small-time guardian of the city of Felport, has a big problem. A rival is preparing a powerful spell that could end Marla's life–and, even worse, wreck her city. Marla's only chance of survival is to boost her powers with the Cornerstone, a magical artifact hidden somewhere in San Francisco. But when she arrives there, Marla finds that the quest isn't going to be quite as cut-and-dried as she expected…and that some of the people she needs to talk to are dead. It seems that San Francisco's top sorcerers are having troubles of their own–a mysterious assailant has the city’s magical community in a panic, and the local talent is being (gruesomely) picked off one by one.

With her partner-in-crime, Rondeau, Marla is soon racing against time through San Francisco's alien streets, dodging poisonous frogs, murderous hummingbirds, cannibals, and a nasty vibe from the local witchery, who suspect that Marla herself may be behind the recent murders. And if Marla doesn't figure out who is killing the city's finest in time, she'll be in danger of becoming a magical statistic herself.

I suppose this is what I get for not reading descriptions or checking out the ratings on a book. Though I suppose by reading the description you don't actually know that the book is full of stuff I don't read. I only read 100 pages and a skimmed the last ten because it was all something called S&M and if you choose to google that do so without the image search on. I made Mr. google it for me. I am not a fan of erotica, I definitely do not read it. I stopped reading the book because it just became to much sex for me to handle. If you are into that sort of thing there are a ton of reviews out there saying it's a great book. But it's just not my thing.

Alex Rider Series by Anthony Horowitz

Sir Damian Cray is a philanthropist, peace activist, and the world's most famous pop star. But still it's not enough. He needs more if he is to save the world. Trouble is, only Alex Rider recognizes that it's the world that needs saving from Sir Damian Cray. Underneath the luster of glamour and fame lies a twisted mind, ready to sacrifice the world for his beliefs. But in the past, Alex has always had the backing of the government. This time, he's on his own. Can one teenager convince the world that the most popular man on earth is a madman bent on destruction-before time runs out?

Eagle Strike, book 4 is my favorite so far. Lots of action. Alex actual develops relationships with people! He makes his own choices and stood up for what he wanted. Before he was always just thrown onto the situation without getting a choice, it was nice he that he did something for himself, while helping his new found friends. This book I would read again.

The one thing though that keeps bothering me, is the ending of the second book. That doesn't feel concluded to me and so I keep thinking on it as I am reading the rest of the series. It's there like a little bug...

But if you skip over that, I kinda wish I would see these books as a high action movie. Though books turned into movies generally suck because they screw up 90% of the book. I am totally off topic.

On to the next book! Happy Reading!

Skeleton Key, book 3

Alex Rider has been through a lot for his fourteen years. He's been shot at by international terrorists, chased down a mountainside, and stood face-to...
This book wasn't my favorite out of the series. The second book ended in a cliffhanger and it wasn't address in this book at all. So I feel like it just skipped over something major and it kinda pissed me off. Also this one just seemed too over the top. He did too many crazy things, seem very unrealistic. The first two books weren't like that. But I really did like the story. If it wasn't for the ending of the second book, I would have enjoyed this book so much better. Makes me feel like I missed a book in between this one and the last one. Will have to research it to find out. Skeleton Key was a great story. I loved the bad guy even if some things were horrible. But Alex liked the bad guy too. So skip the little beginning bump and it was a great read!

"He ignored her. He had already reached the boardwalk. The two teenagers he had seen earlier were sitting in the sun, finishing their drinks, and they didn't see him snatch one of their skateboards and jump onto it. It was only as he pushed off, propelling himself over the wooden surface towards the departing boat, that one of them shouted in his direction, but by then it was too late."

Iron Angel by Alan Campbell

In this stunning follow-up to his epic fantasy debut, Alan Campbell propels readers into a captivating city battling for its own survival—and that of humankind—in a world of deities and demons, fallen angels and killers.

After a destructive battle, the ancient swaying city of Deepgate has been overtaken. Most of the chains that suspend it have given way, toxic fumes are emanating from blazing structures, and the temple once inhabited by the ruling Presbyter now dangles upside down above the once-uncharted abyss. The victorious Spine have initiated martial law and are ruthlessly pursuing all who attempt to leave. Amid the turmoil, two captives are returned.

Arriving by ship are the young angel Dill, now toughened by war, and traitor assassin Rachel Hael. Incarcerated in the slowly crumbling temple, the two await their fate, while from the abyss beneath them ghosts rise—for the death of the god Ulcis has left open the gates to Hell.

But on orders from his divine brethren, Cospinol, the god of brine and fog, is traveling the world to Deepgate to seal this breach. His great skyship is being dragged through the air by the giant John Anchor, a monster of a man enslaved to pull the god’s vessel, moving slowly, inevitably, toward the city.

As the city waits, teetering on the brink, myriad plans for vengeance are set in motion, from the continent of Pandemeria to Heaven itself. Among them is a ghostly archon sent to deliver a message to the gods on earth—using Dill as his vessel. Thrust from his body, Dill’s own soul returns to Hell. When Dill and Rachel are attacked by Spine assassins, Rachel has no choice but to try to escape with the creature that calls itself Dill…and to somehow find a way to restore her friend’s soul before it’s too late. For powerful forces are stirring, and in the coming battle between gods, it is the world of men that is at stake

STUNNING, that is how to describe this book. There was so much going on and lots of stuff. WOW the whole world is so different from ours. I don't really have much to write about it, other that it was great and the end was a total cliffhanger!! So much so I have started the last book already!! Happy Reading!!

SOOO EXCITING!!!

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

I was expecting this to be a quick easy read with a basic story. I wasn't expecting a thought provoking deep story that kept me so interested that I thought about it while working.

Thirteen Reasons Why is the story of two people. Clay and Hannah. Hannah committed suicide and left behind 7 tapes 13 sides filled, on the tapes are her reasons why she has taken her life. The book is written from Clay's perspective whole hearing Hannah's voice on the tapes.

I really really enjoyed this book! It was so good. I don't want to say anything about it though because I feel like I will give everything away and this is one story that is so good I most definitely don't want to give any details away. You should most definitely read it.

I will say one thing. As times it was a little confusing to figure out who's thoughts you were hearing. I did half to jump back a couple times to figure it out. But it was well worth the read.

I found a paragraph that I like because it describes how I feel some times when I get a headache. The book is Thirteen Reasons Why and this is the paragraph

"In health, we saw a documentary on migraines. One of the man interviewed use to fall on his knees and bang his head against the floor, over and over during the attacks. This diverted the pain from deep inside his brain, where he couldn't reach it, to a pain outside that he had control over."

And so I end with have a great day and happy reading

WHAT TEAM ARE YOU ON???

I can not wait for MockingJay to come out.

I have been seeing lots of posts about the Hunger Games on my tours around the internet.

One that caught my attention was the post
Catching Fire: Which Team Are You On?
by GalleySmith
And while I actually think that Katniss will end up choosing neither boy.
I figure it's fun to play along and ask which one you were choosing!
Plus you should definitely check out the awesome links!

All American Girl by Meg Cabot

interestingly Goodreads says it's book 1... is this a series?? I have no idea. However I do know this was a really good story, quick read and fun. It's been a while or it feels like it's been a while since I have had a fun read. I choose this book for the last Read-a-Thon I participated in. I wanted a quick read and light. I have never read a Meg Cabot book and I have always heard good things about her.

Anyways on to my thoughts on All American Girl.

At first it kinda annoyed me. The way it's written. From the girls perspective her detailed thoughts basically. I don't know what this is called (first person maybe???) But near the end it grew on me and was kinda nice. I really enjoyed Sam as a character. She had to learn and grow, it was nice to see her not turn into a snob because of all the attention. I really enjoyed how she created a list of Top Ten everytime she had an issue. I don't do quite that, but pretty similar!

It was a cute fun read. Exactly what I needed (something positive) and while I don't think I would read it again. I am definitely curious about Meg Cabot's other books!
